SLIMQUICK Pure Extra Strength Drink Mix Review

Before I even start this review, I’m just going to put this out there:

DISCLAIMER: I do not support any sort of “quick fix” diet and weight loss system.  Healthy living and weight loss/maintenance is a lifestyle, not a several week diet.  There is no substitute for eating right and exercising/moving to keep the body healthy.  That being said, I do believe that certain products out there can help aid your weight loss journey by assisting the body as you put forth the effort to watch your diet and activity.

Okay, now that my disclaimer is out of the way, we can get to why I’m here today.  I was given the chance to try out the Slimquick Pure extra strength drink mix, which is a newer addition to the Slimquick family.  If you want the bottom line, I enjoyed this product so much that I reached out to the company saying I wanted to work with them even more, so I am now on their 13 week challenge, which is great, because as you all know, I have some weight that I need to get rid of.  I am so excited to get to try all of their products that are designed just for women.  You’ll get more on the entire Slimquick line later.  For now, lets talk about the drink mix that got me hooked in the first place.

Slimquick’s formula is designed to help women with the 6 physical reasons women have a hard time losing weight:

  • Increases Metabolism
  • Reduces Appetite
  • Boosts Energy
  • Reduces Access Water
  • Supports Hormones
  • Reduces Stress

I don’t know about you, but I know I’ve had a problem with at least one (or all..) of those at some point throughout this journey.

Slim quick drink mix is made of natural ingredients like antioxidants, calcium, vitamin D, and (their exclusive) BioPure green tea.  What is this BioPure green tea, you ask? They’ve apparently isolated the fat-burning component of green tea, so that’s what they put in the drink mix.

Now, lets talk usage.  You’re supposed to work your way up starting with 2 servings in a  day, then 3, then ultimately, 4.  While the mixed berry flavor is absolutely delicious (seriously, it’s become an enjoyable, refreshing treat for me), my only issue with this drink mix is how much I’m supposed to drink in a day.  I’ve been taking my 22 oz water bottle and filling that with water and ice to mix the powder into.  Without drinking anything else, that puts me at 88 oz of liquid a day.  Now, throw in my coffee and my Teami tea (note: Slimquick Pure drink mix does have caffeine in it, so they suggest not consuming other caffeinated beverages when drinking it), both of which I like to drink often, and top it off with plain old water, and all of the sudden I feel like I’m stuffed with liquid.  Granted, I didn’t drink all of those things in a day, but you can see how it would be easy to be stuffed with liquid and running to the bathroom to pee every half an hour (real talk here, people).

Now, to be fair, the fact that I was filling up on this super tasty drink did keep me fuller longer and eating a bit less during the day. Perhaps this is some of the methodology behind creating a drink mix that suppresses appetite..  who knows?

The Slimquick drink mix comes in a box of 26 individual packets (perfect for on the go). You’re supposed to mix it with 17 oz of water, but I just fill up my 22 oz water bottle.  The 5 extra ounces doesn’t do anything bad to the flavor.  In fact, the flavor is still very strong even at 22 oz.

I suppose you’re wondering about the results.  The first week I was on it I did in fact lose a little over a pound, but that’s not even the best part. In general I just felt really good.  I’m sure a lot of components of the Slimquick mix helped with that (the fact I was drinking a ton of water, caffeine, healthier choices, etc), but whatever the reason is, I felt energized and ready to take on both the gym and my day. I enjoyed the product so much that I actually contacted the company to see if they had anything else they’d be willing to let me try.  Now I’m on their 12 week challenge trying out all 3 products.  You can get more details on the entire collection on the Slimquick website.

I like it, because I can dilute it in a gallon of water and still taste it… also it’s sweetened with stevia vs chems
