Radha Beauty is an all natural beauty company after Rebekah Letch, co-founder of the company, wanted more out of her beauty products. Growing up, her mom would use various oils and natural ingredients to care for her body, and the results were soft and flawless hair and skin. After years of working with makeup in performance and having her skin left in less than awesome condition because of it, she decided that there had to be a better way to create beauty products. Radha Beauty was born.
Today I am taking a closer look at the Radha Beauty Clearing Serum. This serum not only contains acne flighting ingredients, but also has some anti-aging ingredients in the mix as well. This serum is formulated with skin healthy things like Vitamin C, Retinol, hyaluronic acid, and salicylic acid to keep blemishes at bay. Knowing how my troublesome skin likes to break out, I was really excited to give this serum a try.
The serum comes in a cylindrical tube with a pump button on top, which makes it very easy to use. The serum is quite runny, so it needs to be pumped into your hand rather than on a finger tip. The first thing I noticed was the scent. I was instantly transported to a spa like mindset with the natural (my husband described it as “almost beachy”) type smell that the serum has, but it doesn’t linger after the product is applied.
I suggest waiting a few minutes to apply any other product over it, as the serum feels a bit tacky on the skin. Don’t let that scare you though, as after a few minutes the skin is left soft, smooth, and ready for the next step of your skincare routine. Put this serum on after cleansing and toning, but before your moisturizer.
I’m having a hard time deciding what my results using this serum actually were. After a few days, my skin actually started to clear up nicely. After about two weeks though, I ended up getting a few pretty big cystic breakouts. I don’t know if this is due to the product not working well, or other life events. Stress has been a huge part of my life lately, so I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what caused my epic breakouts. I kept the rest of my skincare routine pretty consistent throughout this process, so there hasn’t been a lot of variation everywhere else.
I guess the final verdict should be what my skin is like today, as I write this. As of writing this post I’ve been using the serum for about 5 weeks, which is a good amount of time to determine whether or not a skincare item will work for you. The last week or so I have been able to forgo my full coverage foundation and use concealer to cover spots, and a light weight powder foundation instead and feel comfortable. Judging by this alone I would say the serum is a success. My skin isn’t flawless, but it is rare that I feel comfortable without a full face of makeup on, which means there is reasonable progress happening in the acne area.
For the price (about $22 on Amazon), I’d say the Radha Beauty Skin Clearing serum is worth trying out. It’s non-drying, effective, all natural, gentle, and not tested on animals. The company also offers a money back guarantee if you don’t like the product. That’s awesome dedication from a company that wants 100% satisfied customers.
