Pure & Essential Minerals Dead Sea Mud Mask

Pure Dead Mask

I have always loved trying new skincare.  I’m always looking out for the next  best thing for my adult acne prone skin.  When I was given the chance to try out this Dead Sea Mud Mask by Pure & Essential Minerals, I jumped on it.  I’ve always enjoyed good mud masks, and I know they tend to be great for my skin type.

This mud mask is made of 21 essential minerals from the Dead Sea and is 100% organic. While the mud mask works hard at drawing away dirt, oil, and other grime from your skin, there are essential oils that go to work keeping your skin hydrated. There are no harsh additives or chemicals, and you get a ton of product for the price. For the number of times I’ve used the mask, it hardly looks like I made a dent in the jar.

Facts are great, but feedback is better.

I’ve used this product about once a week for 4 weeks.  The first thing I noticed, after the amazingly easy application, was the not so subtle tingle that my skin had after application.  It was pretty strong at first, but it died down after the mask started to dry.  I will admit, I was a little scared after my first application because I wasn’t sure if it would irritate my already troubled skin.  Luckily, my skin was just fine.

I let the mask sit on my face for 10-15 minutes, then hopped in the shower to rinse. I noticed that if you dampen the mask, you can feel a few exfoliating type beads, so I ran my hands in circular motions while rinsing to get a little extra benefit. I’m not sure if that is intentional or not, but it’s happened every time.

I waited so long after getting this product to post a review on it because I wanted to be sure of my results before giving you guys feedback.  After one use, my skin felt awesome.  We’re talking day at the spa, deep clean awesome.  After a few weeks, I can honestly say I do notice a bit of difference in my skin.  While my skin is still not perfect, there has been a significant difference in the number of breakouts on my face, especially the cystic type of acne I have been getting along my jawline.  I am sure that regular use of this mask has something to do with it.  I am very excited to see if any more improvement happens over the next few weeks.

Bottom line- For acne prone skin that needs some clarifying, this mask does a great job.  Honestly, I think this would even be great for normal skin that could use a little something extra.  However, if you have sensitive skin, I would practice caution.  The tingle can be quite intense, and depending on what your sensitivities are, this might not work well for you.

Want to know how to get your hands on this awesome mask?  This Dead Sea Mud Mask is available right on Amazon for under $25. Believe me, paying less than $25 for a 6oz tub of this product is an amazing deal.  I’m thrilled I got the chance to try this and will likely be purchasing more when I run out.

Thanks for the review! I have my own problems with cystic acne, and acne scars on my cheeks and chin. I’ll have to add this to my list of “things to try”!

I have very dry skin so I often avoid or only use every now and then masks with clay/kaolin. But I’m using Beessential Dead Sea Soap for Dry Skin and it is fabulous. So maybe I could do a Dead Sea mud mask!
