Hask Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Hair Care Collection

Haircare is not something I talk about on the blog often, but I had the awesome opportunity to try out the entire Hask Macadamia Oil Moisturizing Hair Collection recently, and I’m basically hooked on this stuff.  Macadamia nuts are high in essential fats, which makes them hard to eat in our diets regularly (my personal favorite way to eat them is in the form of a white chocolate macadamia nut cookie..), but it also makes them an amazing ingredient for moisturizing hair care. Macadamia oil helps keep hair hydrated, soft, and shiny, so it’s great for most hair types, but especially for those with dry, damaged, or over processed hair.

There are 4 different products in Hask’s Macadamia line: shampoo, conditioner, a deep conditioning mask, and hair oil.  All of the products are free of sulfates, paragons, phthalates, artificial colors, drying alcohol, and even gluten.  That means that it’s full of good for you ingredients to help keep hair healthy.

I’ve been using the shampoo and conditioner regularly, and I love them.  I’ll be totally honest and tell you that my favorite thing about these products is the smell.  The vanilla nut gourmand scent is absolutely 100% to die for.  I always feel so luxurious when lathering up and conditioning my hair.  In addition to the scent, my hair looks shinier and feels a lot softer than normal, especially when I blow dry my hair, which happens often this time of year, as I don’t want to go out in the cold with wet hair.

Before I blow-dry, I have been putting a little bit of the shine hair oil on the last few inches of my hair before my usual blow-dry spray.  These seems to give the ends a bit more control and sleekness (I tend to have frizzy hair) without weighing them down or making my clean hair look overly greasy, which can be a problem for me with hair oils.  It’s a great combination that leaves my hair looking really nice.

Hask’s deep conditioners come in individual packets that are good for one, maybe two uses.  At first I was disappointed by this, but when I discovered the packets were only $2.99 I was okay with it.  Sometimes it’s just easier (and saves space) when you can get treatments you do weekly or bi-weekly in individual packs, rather than dropping a ton of cash to buy a container that sits there for a year as you use it up slowly. I left the conditioner in for about 10 minutes after shampooing and the result was soft, shiny, and ridiculously delicious smelling hair.  This is a great treatment to revive dry, frizzy hair, especially in the winter.

There is another Macadamia hair care line that I’m sure you all have heard of, but is pretty high in price.  I simply assumed this one would be as well, and then I discovered that it is sold at Ulta on the drugstore side.  All of these products are under $6, my friends. I love when I discover new brands and products that I fall in love with, but I love it even more when they are budget friendly.  I’ve never been one to pay a crazy amount of money for my shampoos and conditioners, and with Hask I still don’t have to.  Happy day!

Hask has several different lines if macadamia oil isn’t your thing.  I am definitely a brand loyalist and will be keeping Hask on my radar as I journey into trying new hair products in the future.
