Teami Blends 30 Day Detox Review

Green leaves and sun light

As you may recall, about a month ago I started the TeaMi Blends 30 Day Detox.  Happy day to me, I finished it. Overall, the experience was a positive one.  Let’s get into the details.

What is the TeaMi 30 Day Detox?

The TeaMi Blends 30 day detox is a program that runs over a 30 day period (duh..) and consists of two different teas: TeaMi Skinny and TeaMi Colon.

Teami Skinny is a unique blend of all natural ingredients that help boost metabolism and suppress appetite, reduce bloating, increase energy, and aid in the digestion process. You can drink as much as you want, as there is no laxative effect. For the cleanse, I drank this first thing in the morning.  In the bag there is enough for a 1tsp serving every morning.  It might not look like a lot, but in the Teami Infuser, the tea expands to fill the whole thing when it steeps.  It’s pretty cool. The taste is good, but isn’t very strong, which I’m okay with.  I was able to drink it without any additional sweeteners and it was enjoyable.

The ingredients in Teami Skinny are: Yerba Mate, Oolong tea, Jiao Gulam, Lotus leaf, Lime leaf extract, ginger root, and Rhubarb root.

Teami Colon is a tea that helps with exactly what the name states: your colon. This tea will help your digestive system get moving (really moving), rid the body of toxic waste, improve digestion, and seriously help with bloating and gas.  For the cleanse, this tea is taken before bed every other night.  This one tastes a little bit more earthy, which might bother some, but didn’t really bother me any. I didn’t add any sweetener, although I’m sure adding a bit of honey would be a great addition to the brew.  Teami Colon comes in tea bags, so there’s no need to use the strainer.

Ingredients in Teami Colon are: Senna leaf and root, Hawthorn berry extract, Lotus leaf, Lime leaf extract, Psyllium husk seed, Phaseolus Calcaratus seed, Rhubarb Root, Porla Cocos stem bark, and Valerian root.

How Did I Feel?

Teami Skinny– So, here’s the thing: At first it made me a little crazy that I wasn’t having coffee first thing in the morning because I had to drink this, but after awhile I didn’t mind. The more I started my day with the skinny tea, the less I craved my morning up of coffee. I also noticed that Teami Skinny did leave me feeling satisfied and energized.  It did act as a bit of an appetite suppressant and gave me the boost I needed to get my day rolling. All in all, two thumbs up for a great start to my morning.

Teami Colon- Okay, I’m going to be frank.. this stuff WORKS. highly suggest you drink it as close to bedtime as possible.  Once, I made the mistake of drinking it as my evening tea at around 9p (I go to bed between 11 and midnight).  I was woken up by my body saying the tea had done its job around 5:30, and when the body speaks, there is no ignoring it.

For the first half of the cleanse this tea was really intense.  I did wake up with that crampy, “gotta go” feeling, and I found that I’d run to the bathroom with a bit of urgency two or three times throughout the first few hours of my day.  The second half of the cleanse my body seemed to find its rhythm with this tea and I didn’t really wake up uncomfortable anymore.  I would go about twice in the morning and then could be on with my day no problem. This is a really intense tea, and I’ve had many people messaging me about how much pain or problems they’re having with it.  If you’re at all skeptical about your body’s ability to handle that sort of thing, there are other cleanse teas that will treat your insides a little more gently. Use with caution.

What were the results?

Full disclosure: I was terrible at following the suggested eating plan, therefore, weight loss was only 3 lbs.  With all of life’s chaos and upcoming changes, there was a lot of less than awesome dietary choices.  I’m not making excuses for myself, as I know I’m to blame for this. If I kept myself on track, I know I would have seen significant results on the scale.

HOWEVER..

That’s not to say that my results weren’t awesome.  As I mentioned, my dependency on my morning coffee became less as I discovered my enjoyment of the morning cup of Teami Skinny, which left me energized and ready to face my day.  I noticed that my healthy breakfasts (breakfast is always something I do well..its the evening that I’m bad at) lasted me a lot longer and I would find myself reaching for a smaller snack rather than a whole meal.  I loved the way Skinny made me feel.

The results of the Teami Colon were also pretty good.  There were days I would wake up and look in the mirror and actually feel skinnier, even though the scale remained unmoved. I had virtually no gas or bloating issues while on this cleanse, which is amazing feeling.  Even though the scale didn’t move much, I feel a little lighter and fit in my clothes a little better.  I want to keep this tea on hand even when I’m not doing the cleanse.  It would be a great solution for those times when your digestive system sometimes needs a little help (be honest..we all have those times).

Want to try Teami for yourself?

Even if you don’t want to commit to a full 30 day cleanse, Teami has 5 teas you can buy individually:

  • Teami Skinny– straight from the cleanse, you can buy an individual bag of the yummy morning brew
  • Teami Colon– Also from the cleanse. My recommendation for any digestive system that needs a little help. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!
  • Teami Profit– A tea built to keep your body at its best.  Helps strengthen the immune system, detoxify, help with your complexion, and control appetite.
  • Teami Energy– 6 natural ingredients make up this energizing tea that promises it can replace your morning cup of coffee.  I am very interested in trying that out.
  • Teami Relax– a 100% natural sleep aid containing ingredients like lavender and chamomile to help calm both the muscles and the mind, aiding in a restful night’s sleep.

Love your tea review and explaining the pros and cons too! I am avid tea drinker (never had love or desire to drink coffee) so I might consider this in the future!

I catch your drift, and there is no problem once you stop the tea. I actually think it gets your body working better on it’s own after the fact. I LOVED it (once I got used to it).

I’m very glad you posted this review. I’m very interested in trying it out but I was worried about (1) the taste and (2) the “effectiveness” of the colon cleanse part. I have a job where I sometimes cannot excuse myself from the room so I am worried about the “urgency” you wrote about. I think I will start with just the skinny tea for now. Your review was very helpful. Thanks!

The taste is definitely manageable. you could always add a tad of sweetener. As for the effectiveness, it is definitely very effective. If you start by steeping the detox tea for a shorter time it will weaken. That might help you get used to the effects a little easier.

I’m pretty disappointed that you chose to promote a colon cleanse tea. Your body does not need help “detoxing”. The liver’s main job is to detox your body and the colon sheds old cells every 3 days so there is no buildup of harmful material! All you are paying for is a marketing scheme to sell you overpriced teas that give you diarrhea. Any weight you are losing is water weight. Teas like these are borderline encouraging young girls to turn to bulimia to lose weight.

Thank you for expressing your opinion, as I know many people don’t necessarily agree with these type of products, and that’s fine. There are many claims that talk about how no detoxes are actually necessary for the body because it all happens naturally, but at the end of the day, all I know is I felt a lot better during and after this particular 30 Day series. If it makes me my body feel leaner, more energized, and just better, then it worked for me, and that’s great.

And remember, I said I didn’t really lose any weight while on the detox. Weight loss is about healthy food choices and a calorie budget. I don’t believe in quick fix diets. They don’t racist. This is not about the weight loss. It’s about overall body functionality and feeling.

I had surgery three years ago and since then my bowels are nearly non existent. Which is very harmful, you can actually die from buildup and not mention the risk of cancer. I’ve taken prescribed pills, added more water, veggies fruit and fiber to my diet but it very rarely works. My face breaks out, I’m sluggish and bloated and food isn’t digesting like it should. I can’t wait to try the colon tea, my hubby just ordered it for me. Fingers crossed

I’m so glad I found your review. I’ve been debating if I should invest in this tea and whether it really worked. Thanks for the honest review….

I just started this and last night was my first colon tea, I made the HUGE mistake of letting the bag seep for about 10 minutes ( I went to change and clothes and got distracted) I awoke at 2 in the morning with really bad cramps and the urge to go..I was going and coming from 2 to 4 in the morning and still going every so often but its the runs, not very happy about this but I know I caused it…hopefully next time I do it it wont cause such pain and discomfort. The bag says to seep from 1-3 minutes. Whoops! Anyone else made the same mistake? Aside from that everything is great!

    • divaandthedivine says:

Oh my gosh! Yeah.. 10 minutes is FAR too strong! Yikes. There were some days I would only steep it for a minute or so.

    • Honey says:

My own friends say the same thing about the colon cleanse, but for me, I HAVE to leave it at least ten minutes (or just never remove it) in order to get any effect!

      • lmf says:

Omg!!! But I’m assuming you don’t get the full effects like I did? 10 min barely gets things going for you huh?! Today is day 2 of colon tea and I’m a bit nervous…I will stand by my tea and a timer. 😂

        • Honey says:

I was told by Teami (I can’t remember if by comment or otherwise) to drink a good amount of water beforehand. Keep yourself hydrated as well as to steep it for only 1-3 minutes to make sure you don’t end up with a painful effect.

Yes, somehow I seem to have a stronger stomach than most (according to my friend who has the same effect as you). So, I’ve been drinking much more water and keeping it steeped in my cup until I’m done drinking!

I hope it goes better for you tonight! *crosses fingers*

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service. I have sent back 2 shipments ,One unopened like the guarantee said too that was in September and one in October with a USPS tracking number ,Hours of paperwork on Pay Pal and still no refund.
Would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. They do not stand by the money back guarantee

    • divaandthedivine says:

That’s so disappointing! I’ve heard that their service has started to go downhill, and I’ve actually stopped working with them since things started to get shady and inconsistent. :-/
