Happy September! I’m so excited September is here, as it means the start of all of my favorite things. Kids are back in school (I don’t have kids, but when I run errands it means there will be less of them running around the shops!), it’s the start of sweater weather, Leaves candles are easily available at Bath and Body Works, and pumpkin spice is popping up everywhere. It’s basically my little slice of heaven.
Even though I am no longer affected by back to school season, I still really enjoy the fresh start behind it, and I feel the need to take full advantage of the spirit of the season. I really want to get better at setting (and publicly declaring) monthly goals for accountability purposes. Here’s what I’m working on this month.
Break my weight loss wall: As you well know, I have been stuck going up and down the same 4 lbs for what seems like ages now, and I haven’t been able to get lower than 166lbs. This month is it. It’s the time that I bust through the wall and start showing the scale who’s boss. Bonus, as of this morning I am only 2lbs away from succeeding. Bring it ON!
Decorate for fall: The beginning of my favorite season is finally upon us, which means Pumpkin Spice and everything nice. It also means fall candles, fall flavors, and all of my fall decor can make an appearance. Happy day! My goal is to have the house fully decorated for fall before the season’s official beginning at the end of the month. I made my husband get my fall bins out of storage this past weekend (shout out to Labor Day for having him home an extra day this week), and it’s now up to me to get everything put up.
Establish a schedule: This might seem vague, but it really isn’t. I’ve been thinking a lot about my lack of motivation and productivity lately, and I’ve decided to take a new approach to my housewife and blogger life. Even though I technically don’t have a job that I have to get to at a specific time, I’m going to start treating my week days like I do. I’ve got a Google calendar going with specific hours for working out, chores, me time, and a nice chunk of “work” time blocked off Monday-Friday. My hope is that by establishing this schedule it will encourage me to work as hard and as efficiently as I did back in college and when I had 3 different jobs keeping me busy. I felt like superwoman back then, and I kind of want to feel like that again.
Post 3x per week minimum on the blog and 2x per week on YouTube: If I’m working during my scheduled hours, this should not be difficult. While I’m pretty good at regularly uploading content to my YouTube channel, I have been seriously neglecting my blog, which makes me sad because that’s where Diva and the Divine started. It’s time to truly buckle down and make Diva and the Divine everything I imagine it will be.
5 Blue dots per week: I’m really trying to buckle down (in several areas of life, it seems), and when it comes to Weight Watchers, it’s time to get serious. I announced on my vlogs that I basically started fresh with Weight Watchers, just to give myself a mental refresh, and so far, so good. I’ve decided to try and add earning blue dots to my goals because it’s a great way to keep visible track of my adherence to the program. You earn a blue dot on your Weight Watchers tracker if you eat within your Healthy Eating Zone. For me, that is between 27-37 Smart Points. I love this becuase it gives me the freedom to go over my 30sp several days and still be completely on plan. Blue dots are just another way of being able to visualize success in my goal, and I’m excited to see if they keep me motivated.
That’s it! What are some of your goals this month?
