It’s hard to believe that September has come and gone already! I actually sent an email out to my family telling them they need to start thinking about (and sending me) their Christmas lists. Christmas!! It’s crazy how fast this year is flying by.
September was a busy month, as most months for the rest of 2017 promise to be. While I was spending a lot of time running around like a mad woman, I did have enough time to discover and fall in love with some new products. This month we’ve got some beauty stuff right alongside a few food and health related items. Every single product is something I’ve been using and loving constantly throughout the month, and I feel the need to share so you can enjoy them too!
All of my favorites are listed below. Let me know what some of your favorites from the past month are.

Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer
I’m not going to lie, I got this primer for free from Influenster months ago. I also won’t lie and I’ll say I hate that this is a favorite of mine. At $54 for 1 oz, it’s a bit high on the price list, but this stuff really is incredible. Whatever magic is in this bottle really makes a difference. I have different brands of so many types of products that I have an “everyday use” collection and a “when I want to look my best” collection for going out and filming days. This primer is definitely in the latter category. I find that when I use this primer my makeup looks amazing for a lot longer than it has with any other primer, I kid you not. It’s an oil free formula that doesn’t break me out, which is always a plus. The formula smoothes out the fine lines on my forehead and gives me the perfect canvas for a flawless makeup application. Sure, the other products I use also help my makeup look great, but it all starts with a solid base, and the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer is the best. I have a feeling I will be purchasing the giant 2oz size (which is $75, making the price $37.50 for 1 oz rather than $54) when the Sephora sale rolls around. This product has made it on to my list on Holy Grail products.
NYX Epic Ink Eyeliner
Now for something on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. I have recently become obsessed with the liquid liner look, and that was thanks to my getting my hands on some Kat Von D Tattoo Liner minis in some Sephora holiday kit or something. I loved how they applied, and how my lack of talent in the eyeliner department didn’t guarantee failure with those pens. However, at $20 a pop, I did want to see if I could find a more budget friendly alternative. Enter: NYX Epic Ink Eyeliner Pen. This pen has a tip similar to the KVD pen, and I can use it with just as much ease as the more expensive one. The only difference is I find the NYX pen to be just a little bit more thin in formulation, so I have seen it sink into the small lines on my lids on several occasions, but it’s not really noticeabl and is easily fixed. For $8 instead of the $20 we pay for KVD, it’s totally worth it.
Crabtree & Evelyn Citron & Coriander Energizing Body Sorbet
Full disclosure: about a month ago, the kind people at Crabtree & Evelyn sent me some of their newest goodies to try. I’ve always thought of Crabtree & Evelyn as an “older person” brand. My aunt shops there for a body powder, and a few of the scents I have smelled in store didn’t speak to me, so imagine my surprise when I ended up loving the products they sent over! The first of the standouts was this energizing body sorbet. The citrus smell is to die for. The special thing about the sorbet is it has a cooling sensation, which is meant to awaken and energize your skin. The first time I applied it, I was unaware there was an intentional cooling component, so I legitamately thought I was having some sort of reaction. Thankfully, I checked the site and when I read it was supposed to do that, my mind went from panic to enjoyment really fast. What a cool idea for an energizing product! This sorbet also feels more like a gel, so it dries and absorbs rather quickly while still leaving behind some great hydration. I’m definitely a fan!
Crabtree & Evelyn Lavender Espresso Hand Therapy
This is the other Crabtree & Evelyn product that stood out to me. I was super excited to see espresso in the sent profile, but I was actually a bit puzzled as to why this smell that is associated with energy and morning coffee was included in a supposedly calming, bedtime scent. It turns out I don’t actually smell espresso like I would in something meant to smell like coffee. Instead, it just adds an interesting depth to the scent of the lavender, resulting in a nice, soothing bedtime smell. The Crabtree & Evelyn hand therapy formula is amazing. A little goes a long way and my hands feel so soft and hydrated. This is great product to treat yourself to as a quick before bed self care ritual. Way to go, Crabtree & Evelyn, for officially changing my opinion about you and your products.
Trader Joe’s Harvest Blend Herbal Tea
This tea is legitimately fall in a cup. Made with cinnamon, ginger, hibiscus, orange peel, and other fabulous fall flavors, this cup of tea warms me from the inside out. It’s almost like drinking apple cider, only without the sugar and calories. Sadly, I can’t link to it because you can only find it in Trader Joe’s stores. If you manage to get over to one, I highly suggest picking up a few boxes so it’s around for you all fall and winter long. It’s caffeine free, so you can drink it any time of day.
Natural Vitality Natural Calm
This has been a lifesaver since I decided to stop taking my prescription meds for insomnia. Since I stopped them, I’ve been trying to find natural remedies that help me beat insomnia and get the sleep I need. Natural Calm is now a regular part of my night time routine. It’s just a magnesium supplement, but it helps you calm yourself in a natural way. While Natural Calm can be used any time you’re feeling particularly stressed, I find I love using it about an hour or so before bedtime. It has a bit of a fizzy feel to it, which isn’t my favorite (I’m not a fan of fizzy anything. No soda drinks here), but it’s tolerable and totally worth it. I originally had the raspberry lemonade flavor, which was just okay, but I now have the cherry one, which I like a lot better. This is a product that I’m definitely going to continue to purchase, as I find it really does help me sleep. Hooray for natural solutions!
No Cow Bars
I’ll admit it; at first try, I hated No Cow bars. For whatever reason, I thought their taste and texture was less than desirable. In the past few months I started to buy them again becuase they are one of the only non-dairy, high protein bars I can find that are so Weight Watchers friendly. We’re talking 3-4 Smart Points per bar. I like the raspberry truffle and dark chocolate raspberry truffle flavors the best, because they have little chocolate shavings in there, which give it a more desirable texture. After eating these a few times, I quickly went from hating them to loving them. I can’t explain it, but I know that I’m definitely interested in giving the other flavors another chance, because I think it’s important to have some protein supplement options that are non-dairy. You can find these at Amazon, GNC and Vitamin Shoppe.
