I am so thrilled to have the chance to tell you about the latest and greatest from one of my favorite brands, Erin Condren. You all know that I am in love with my Life Planner, but my love for the brand goes even deeper than that. I love using EC products all over my office for many different things, and that includes notebooks, so I was elated when I found out the notebooks were getting a facelift as well as a new family member.
I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of the new, coming soon, TakeNote Journals. One look at this beauty and I was instantly smitten. Lets discuss what the new and exciting notebooks and journals have in store for us.
TakeNote Journal / Notebook Features
First, you should note (ha..get it? Note!) that the primary difference in the notebooks and the journals is the binding. The notebooks have a (new, smaller) spiral coil while the brand new journals are book bound, meaning the cover and pages are glued together at the spine (like a composition notebook). Personally, I’m loving the sleek look of these book bound journals. The coil bound notebooks will be available in 7×9 and 8.5×12, and the journals come in 7×9.
The notebooks and journals come with 2 different page options: lined or dot grid. The lined pages are college ruled, perforated, and each page comes with an awesome sidebar that is a preprinted check list. Being a list lover, I think this feature is genius. If you’d prefer a more freeform notebook or journal, you could go the route of the dot grid, which leaves endless possibilities for your pages.
In addition to page options, the notebooks and journals now come with colorful headings in several colors, meaning you can easily use your pages for different subjects. Also, there’s a page of stickers in the back of the book.
The covers are different for the journals and notebooks. Notebook covers are just like they were before. The journal covers are a sleek satin finish with smooth matte laminate and are so beautiful. They’ll have personalization available and many beautiful covers to choose from, including metallics (my favorite!).
It should also be noted that there are some new accessories to go with the release of the new notebooks and journals. First up, there’s the set of 3 sticky storage pockets. These pockets have adorable scalloped edges, are brightly colored, and each have a shiny foiled quote on them. The backs are covered with a 3M sticky, so you can peel and stick the pocket wherever you’d like for a little storage in your notebook or journal. There is also a little pad of sticky pocket corners available which can turn the corner of a page into a place to hold a little something extra.
The biggest accessory news comes in the form of a new pack of beautiful rollerball pens. The pens are gem toned, come in great colors and write like a dream. I love the little details that EC puts on all of her products, and these pens are no different. Each pen has a gold foil word stamped write on the cap which adds a little something extra to the look of the set. The pens glide on smoothly and there is no significant bleed through in my notebook or planner. You could still see through a little bit, but once you write on the other page it’s barely noticeable. I don’t think I’ve seen a pen that didn’t have a little something show through if you look hard enough. EC obviously made these with her products in mind, and they work great on the paper in her products.
I hope my fellow EC fans are as excited about this product release as I am. Keep your eyes peeled because the release date is coming soon! I know I will be placing an order for a few more of these journals, as I just can’t get over how beautiful and functional it is.
