Kare-N-Herbs Kold Kare
I felt like this is along the lines of the echinacea supplements I take when I have a cold. Kold Kare sounds like it has the same benefit of keeping the immune system in fighting condition which, in theory, should shorten the amount of time you’re down with your illness, but it also says it is effective in reducing headache pain, fever, irritation, congestion and general fatigue. Of course, I actually had a cold at the end of the month and forgot to give this stuff a try, so I can’t tell you one way or another from personal experience. I’ll definitely be trying i next time.

Smarty Pants Adult Gummy Vitamins: Weight Management
Even adults should have a little bit of fun with their daily obligations to their body. This multivitamin (well…6 of them, as that’s the serving) is a yummy tasting handful of gummies to start the day. These little fruit flavored beauties have 10 of your daily key ingredients (including vitamins A, D, C, B-6 and B-12, Omega-3s and a healthy dose of fiber (6g!) in them. While they are caffeine free, which made me a little sad (as the weight management vitamins I like contain my precious caffeine), the generous dose of fiber is a key element in the “weight management” classification. The taste was nothing fantastic, but still a fun way to get a dose of daily vitamins.

Wiley’s Finest Wild Alaskan Fish Oil
This dairy, gluten, and soy free fish oil supplement provides 1000mg EPA + DHA in each pill. The capsules are the larger ones (compared to some of the tiny fish oil pills that are on the market now specifically for size difference) which I feel like there are literally hundreds of on the market. I’m not going to lie, as someone who already takes fish oil every day, I’m over getting them in my monthly box.

Helps Tea: Organic R & R
This tea by Helps tea uses lemon balm and passion flower to help relieve the stress and tensions of the day. 100% organic. To me, it tasted like plain old tea with maybe a tad of lemon aftertaste. As one who loves flavored teas, this was not exciting at all.

Xooma Focus Up Pure Energy Capsules
Focus Up claims to help you when you’ve hit an energy lull in the day. Made of vitamin B-12 and their special blend ( containing Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCL, Green tea leaf extract (supplies polyphenols and caffeine), Rhodiola rosea root extract, DMAE (from DMAE bitartrate), Vinpocetine, Huperzine-A [from Huperzia serrata extract (whole plant)] ), it’s supposed to help boost your energy, mood and of course, your focus. I’ll be honest when I say, out of the one dose they gave us, I couldn’t feel a huge difference. I always love the idea of an energy booster, but if I can’t feel it, it does me no good.

Total Box Value: $4.86 🙁
Sad day, Bulu Box. For $10 a month, it’s only fair to at least put samples that are worth the $10 in the box. Not a very promising way to start the new year. I hope that 2014 doesn’t end up being a huge miss all together, as I love this box, but was definitely not wowed this time around…that’s why it took me so long to write this post. I wasn’t exactly motivated to write about a box that had me so disappointed. Better luck next month.
