April 2018 Goals

April is here! Spring is trying to make an appearance (although it’s not really doing a great job here in the Chicagoland area), which makes me so happy. I am longing to be outside and not wear a winter coat. 

Let’s talk about goals for the month of April. First, let’s look at progress on my 2018 goals.

Hit Goal Weight: As of today I’m down 4.8 lbs this year. I know slow and steady wins the race, but I currently feel like I’m barely in the race. For the month of April I’m switching gears and I’m saying farewell to WW Freestyle (which I wrote an entire post on) and switching to Points Plus. I had a lot of success on Points Plus and lost 57 lbs back in 2011-12, so I’m hoping my switch back will help get the ball rolling.

10,000 Youtube Subscribers: 8,840. I’m getting there and feeling great about it! 

10,000 Instagram Followers: 3,580. Growth here is a lot slower, but it’s growing nonetheless. I make it a point to post at least once a day and try to engage with others when I can. Help a girl out and follow me on Instagram. 

Read 25 books: 4.5/25.  

Project 50 pan: 17/50. This is SUCH a slow process, but I have to say I have spent a lot less money this year than in years past. All in all, a project pan was an excellent idea.

April Goals

Get a sleep study done: Something you may not know about me: I’m a snorer. Some nights I am a bad snorer. I’ve been like that for as long as I can remember and every member of my family with confirm this. With my husband working from home for the last month and therefore being in our bed every night, (he typically travels for work which gives us a few nights each week to sleep alone) it’s become clear to us that my snoring is still an issue. My mom, the nurse, has thought for years that it’s likely not just snoring, but sleep apnea, which is a common condition, but it needs to be treated. Me, being the stubborn person I am, has refused to go and get the study done that will likely result in my getting an oh so sexy (not at all) CPAP machine. While I don’t like the thought of this, I’ve heard that treating sleep apnea can be life-changing in terms of quality of sleep and energy for the day, which we all know is something I struggle with to begin with. Knowing this could be the solution to several of my problems, I don’t know why I waited so long. Next week I have an appointment to hopefully get the necessary referral from my neurologist.  Fingers crossed she lets me get a sleep study done.

Follow Weight Watchers Points Plus for the month: Those of you that follow me anywhere already know this is the plan.  Not only am I following PP, but I’m still tracking everything in my WW app so I will have a comparison between the two plans for you by the time I’m finished. I am only a few days in, and I’m already thrilled to be back on a plan I know worked wonders for me.  

Spring Cleaning: April means spring cleaning. My husband and I already conquered our big bookshelf and our entire kitchen, but we still have a long way to go.  I’m going to tear my office apart, get rid of anything I’m not using, and work really hard on continuing my “less is more” mindset that I started in 2018.

Read 4 books: I checked out a few books from the library and my goal is to have them all read by their return date of 5/2. This will double the number of completed books for my 2018 goal of reading 25 books this year. Why oh why is poking at a game on the phone always more interesting to me than opening a book?? 

That’s about it. I’m just going to keep trucking along. I’m always trying to improve my routines and habits, but it gets a little repeditive writing about them month after month.
