Colour Pop Shadow | Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush | Marvelous Moxie Lip Gloss in Rebel | FitBit Alta | Jade Citrus Mint Tea | Gilmore Girls
I can’t believe it’s already May! We’re in the second quarter of 2016, the weather has finally started to warm up, and we’re getting ready for the glorious joys that summertime promises to bring. In the meantime, I have a few things that I loved using and enjoying during the month of April. Check them out!
Colour Pop Super Shock Shadow in Party Girl
I got Party Girl in an eyeshadow kit that is sadly not available anymore, but I figured it was worth a mention anyway because there are similar products available. Party Girl is a matte, salmon-like pink that I love putting on after my primer. It neutralizes the discoloration on my lids that makes me look tired quickly, and because it’s a little bit pink, the shadow also looks pretty enough to leave alone if I don’t want to put anything else on. I really love the formulation of the Colour Pop shadows, and the $5 price is perfectly budget friendly. While Party Girl isn’t available anymore, Cop A Feel (a less pink color that does essentially the same thing) still is. I’ve hit pan on that shade, so I clearly love it as much as the other one.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush
While the price point of this blush is less than desirable ($38), I love the product. Luminous Flush is a champagne rose shade that gives my skin that perfect flush, which looks especially great for spring/summer. What I like about the Ambient Lighting blushes is that they take the famous Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder technology and mix it with a blush pigment so the product delivers color and a soft blur of the lighting powders all in one compact. This blush gives me color and a natural looking, radiant glow.
I got this as a freebie with one of my Sephora orders, and it turned out to be a product I’m loving. The Marvelous Moxie Lip Gloss is a super hydrating formula with shea, avocado, and murumuru butters that feel amazing going on my lips. The sheer pink shade Rebel gives my lips a touch of color with a ton of non-sticky shine. I recently ordered a cute gift set of mini Moxie glosses in other shades to see if I love the formula as much as I think I do before purchasing full sizes of anything, but I’m definitely optimistic. Bonus: the scent (which is minty with what I think is a hint of chocolate..YUM!) is to die for delicious, and the mint leaves a little tingle my lips.
As a treat to myself I upgraded my FitBit to the new Alta model and I am so in love. First of all, it came in purple, which is my favorite color, but it also has interchangeable bands, so it’s finally a fashion accessory. That’s just the beginning. It has an LCD screen that tells you the time, how you’re doing on your goals, and even delivers messages from your phone right to your wrist. This was definitely the upgrade I was looking for in my fitness tracker, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the money I spent. A full review of the FitBit Alta will be coming soon.
I was turned on to this tea by a friend I sing in a choir with, and he was right on to tell me about it. I love a good mint tea, and this tea hits the spot. The Jade Citrus Mint tea has citrus notes of lemon verbena and lemongrass combined with spearmint making it bright and refreshing. I enjoy it both hot and iced. Delicious!
After hearing the news of the Gilmore Girls reunion happening on Netflix, I decided that I should finally watch the original show. I know, I know, it’s pretty sad that it’s taken me this long to jump on that bandwagon, but now that I have, I can’t stop!! Seriously, I only have 1.5 seasons left. I love the dialogue and am obsessed with the characters. This show is full of humor, fast dialogue, and amazing characters that are funny and so relatable. I am utterly obsessed and can’t wait for the reunion to air.
