1. My New Space Heater
It took me all winter long (and 3 years of living here…), but I finally purchased a space heater for my home office, and it’s been amazing. Just yesterday I figured out the true trick to keeping my office warm: space heater on and the door closed. I only do this when I’m home, of course. I love having my desk by a big window so I can get natural light in my office, but what I didn’t realize when picking out where my furniture would go was that the giant window basically acts like a vacuum for all heat, which means that anything below freezing basically promises that my hands will be frozen within 5 minutes of sitting at that desk ( one of the joys of having a nerve disease). Anyway, this little heater has been well worth the $35 I paid for it
2. Chocolate Covered Strawberry!?
Built Bars released a new flavor for Valentine’s Day: Strawberry!! For those of you that don’t know, Built Bars are the latest protein bar to hit the WW Instagram trend, and for a good reason: they’re awesome. Truthfully, some people can’t stand them, but I think they’re an amazing tasting bar. They coated in real chocolate which means they feel like a dessert substitute while packing 15 g protein into a bar that is only 3 points, both on Points Plus and on Freestyle.
These bars sort of have the chewy texture of a chocolate covered marshmallow when they’re at room temperature. I prefer to keep mine in the fridge so the get a little chewier. They’re perfect for me at that temperature and I love them. Strawberry is my favorite flavor of pretty much anything, so I can’t wait to get my hands on these.
If you’re interested in trying Built Bars you can use the code DIVA3 for $3 off a sampler box or the code DIVA for 10% off your first full size box!
3. Feeling In Control
The last 3 days I have been an absolute champion at staying on track. I’ve managed to not eat anything sugary during the day, successfully overcome my normal sugar cravings, and have limited myself to 1 little treat at night. I have gone to bed feeling so accomplished I can’t even tell you. The real kicker here: it’s PMS week, meaning the week I expect myself to be the exact opposite of everything I just described to you. My mind is like 🤯
So, what’s the secret? Well, I’m not entirely sure yet, but I can tell you that I think taking WM Nutrition’s AvantraSlim supplement twice a day has definitely played a part in this. It’s basically a caffeine boost and an appetite suppressant powder that you take in water (bonus hydration) and it’s supposed to curb your appetite for a few hours. I have taken it on and off since I got it (I purchased a bundle back at 50% off because I was dying to try the
4. Actually Adulting
Right along side the whole feeling in control thing, I’ve somehow managed to get ahead on my work (we’re talking pre-filmed 4 videos so far), made several major appointments that I’ve been putting off, finished a book, and I’ve even started working on my taxes. I’m testing out a few different productivity hacks to see what works for me, but if this trend keeps up, I’m going to be unstoppable (and you’re going to be getting a lot of great content!).
5. How did we miss this?
So, you know that episode in Friends where Rachel falls and has to go to the emergency room with Monica and the entire episode is based on Monica filling out these forms and trying to decide whether or not to commit insurance fraud because Rachel doesn’t have insurance? Monica ends up asking for a new set of forms 3 or 4 times throughout the episode to change the name.
I’ve seen this episode a million times, and last night was the first time I noticed this detail: Monica is writing in pencil… she never needed new forms..
See for yourself.
